Tour of Turkey - Fabio Jakobsen wins sprint as Cavendish takes third

Sam Bennett had to settle for second today after winning the first two stages, with Quick-Step's Jakobsen producing a well-timed sprint to claim victory. It was a much better day for third-placed Mark Cavendish, who wasn't in contention for the sprint finishes on days one and two.

Ryder Hesjedal removes Insta posts

Screen Shot 2019-04-18 at 14.39.56

Perhaps this was a misunderstanding after all, as Hesjedal's posts, questioning if Wiggins had sold a pink jersey given to him by Hesjedal, have now been removed. The comments are still viewable via Twitter, as we've screenshotted above.

——. @bradwiggins what stage was this from???

A post shared by Ryder Hesjedal (@ryder_hesjedal) on

#Awkward. Get the popcorn out, as this looks potentially salty... it all started when 2012 Giro winner Hesjedal asked Wiggins "what stage was this from?", with a message underneath that appears to be from someone claiming to have bought the jersey off Wiggins.

In the next post, Hesjedal then questions if it really is a genuine jersey that Wiggins has sold on, or if there's been a misunderstanding and it's just a replica. Wiggins hasn't responded yet, and if he does we'll update you of course...

Man flips over wall after crashing his bike, dog cares not one jot

This bizarre video captures the moment a man crashes and flips over a wall, only for a dog on the other side to completely ignore the commotion and carry on snoozing.

According to the article in The Metro, the victim Rick Murphy was largely ok afterwards and was "back in the pub" soon after with a few scratches. The dog's owner John Heavey told The Metro: "It’s funny that Shep didn’t even move because when we’re home, he always tries to open the gate and get out for a wander, but it really surprised me that he’s just lay there. He doesn’t even flinch."

Timmy Mallett will tell all about his e-bike adventure and show off paintings he made along the way at festival appearance

Last year TV presenter Timmy Mallet embarked on a self-supported cycle tour on his e-bike, riding across three countries and eventually across the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route in northern Spain. Multi-talented Mallett painted the landscapes along the way, and will be appearing at Cookham Festival in Berkshire on 10th May to tell his story and show his paintings off.

Mallett is still riding regularly (apart from a brief hiatus when he got his beloved Giant e-bike stolen); you can follow him on Strava here
